About Me

I am passionate about supporting new parents and babies to meet their feeding goals. As a parent and certified lactation professional, I pair evidence-based practice with real-life recommendations to help clients implement sustainable and individualized feeding plans.

My Story

My inspiration for this work came after welcoming my first daughter in 2015 when I sought help from a local IBCLC and lactation support group in Philadelphia, near our then home. They provided critical support as I gained confidence to breastfeed my new baby. I decided shortly after to pursue certification for lactation consulting to be able to support other new parents in their feeding journeys. I completed Drexel University’s Certificate in Human Lactation Program in 2019, including over 90 hours of lactation-specific classroom education hours (some attended with my 2nd newborn daughter as pictured above) and 300+ hours of hands-on clinical experience in a variety of settings including: hospital inpatient labor & delivery and postpartum units, level III NICU, outpatient pediatrician offices and community clinics.

My career began as a nurse in 2006 when I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Pennsylvania. I worked my way through graduate school as a bedside nurse on a post-surgical step-down unit in a large hospital. Upon completing my Master’s of Science in Nursing Administration at the University of Pennsylvania, I began a new role as an inpatient nurse manager. I later went on to take a job as a nurse consultant for a workforce management technology company. As a new mom, I traveled to help health system nurse leaders adopt technology to create patient acuity-driven staffing plans. Working from a home office with weekly travel, I pumped in a variety of locations and settings (airports, trains, hotels and conferences, oh my!) - all the while wondering why there weren’t more resources to help lactating parents. With the birth of our second daughter, I left the corporate world to be home with our children while pursuing additional lactation education. In January 2020 I earned my certification with the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners; I founded Grow Strong Lactation Consulting in March 2020.

I currently live with my husband and three daughters in West Chester, PA. I am grateful for the unique nursing and feeding relationships I have had with each of our children. These experiences have humbled me, enriched my life, and enhanced my skills and knowledge as a lactation professional. After working across the full spectrum of lactation care settings, I want to serve my clients where they are most comfortable - in their own homes. I look forward to working with you and your family soon!
